About

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine that has been practiced in China and other countries for over three thousand years. It is safe, has scientific validation of its effectiveness and is a drug free modality for the treatment of many common ailments,
The World Health Organization has identified a broad range of conditions which, as a result of controlled trails, are known to respond to Acupuncture.

At an Acupuncture consultation the patient's presenting condition is diagnosed according to the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and a treatment protocol is determined. In most cases this involves the application of very fine, single use, sterile disposable needles at specific sites on the body known as acupuncture points. The action of the needles on these points facilitates the body's healing processes. Some patients (especially those with a strong phobia of needles) may be treated with low power infra-red Laser instead of needles. Other treatments that may be applied include Cupping, and/or Moxibustion (the warming of acupoints with a mild slow burning herb.)

Auricular Therapy is a form of Acupuncture which is applied wholly to the Ear. There are points on the ear that can be used to diagnose and treat the whole body. This therapy can be very effective for painful conditions as well as for treating underlying disharmonies.

Chinese Herbal Medicine . Herbal formulae are dispensed according to the principles of TCM after diagnosis based on a thorough history and a careful consideration of the presenting condition. This Practice uses only GMP processed, EU certified patent herbal pills or tablets.
