About

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine that has been practiced in China and other countries for over three thousand years. It is safe, has scientific validation of its effectiveness and is a drug free modality for the treatment of many common ailments,
The World Health Organization has identified a broad range of conditions which, as a result of controlled trails, are known to respond to Acupuncture.

At an Acupuncture consultation the patient's presenting condition is diagnosed according to the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and a treatment protocol is determined. In most cases this involves the application of very fine, single use, sterile disposable needles at specific sites on the body known as acupuncture points. The action of the needles on these points facilitates the body's healing processes. Some patients (especially those with a strong phobia of needles) may be treated with low power infra-red Laser instead of needles. Other treatments that may be applied include Cupping, and/or Moxibustion (the warming of acupoints with a mild slow burning herb.)

Auricular Therapy is a form of Acupuncture which is applied wholly to the Ear. There are points on the ear that can be used to diagnose and treat the whole body. This therapy can be very effective for painful conditions as well as for treating underlying disharmonies.

Chinese Herbal Medicine . Herbal formulae are dispensed according to the principles of TCM after diagnosis based on a thorough history and a careful consideration of the presenting condition. This Practice uses only GMP processed, EU certified patent herbal pills or tablets.

Remedial Massage

Massage therapy is testament to the power of touch. From the comforting rub that a mother applies to soothe a child to the curative force of deep tissue therapy, remedial massage is the mother of all therapies.

Foundation Remedial Massage Therapy treats many common ailments from tense neck and shoulders to traumatic injury. Massage warms and circulates and when professionally applied, it is able to remove the pain causing metabolites of stress and injury from the muscles. The result is prompt relief from pain, greater flexibility and a deep sense of relaxation.

Therapeutic Massage is an ideal drug free treatment to resolve the pain of acute and chronic injuries and to relax and calm the nervous system. Modern research has proven the benefits of Therapeutic Massage. It relaxes and lowers blood pressure, improves lymphatic drainage, and stimulates the release of endorphins, the happy hormones. Medical research has shown it is beneficial both for the elderly and the young, even for babies. See over for a list of conditions that can be treated with Remedial Massage.

Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage is an ancient Ayurvedic
Massage technique that can be performed with the patient seated and fully clothed. It can be applied to treat headaches, painful and tense jaw and some forms of tinnitus. After the treatment patients often report a feeling of greater well-being.
Hyperton-X

HYPERTON-X is a treatment procedure designed to identify and release tension locked  (hypertonic) muscles allowing them to return to their normal functioning state.  Hyperton-X has a profound effect on body/mind integration and demonstrates beneficial effects on learning disorders, athletic performance, chronic pain and more.
